Soil Capital was engaged by a European corporate to transition an international farming business from conventional to regenerative farming. The portfolio consisted of some 20 farms located in 8 countries globally. Production is mostly fruit, destined both to local and export markets. Soil Capital was the executive manager of this business.

    Pineapples, 480 Ha, 2 farms

    Grapes, 170 Ha, 1 farm
  • Uruguay:
    Citrus and blueberries, 390 Ha, 2 farms
  • Argentina:
    Apples, pears and grapes, 1,430 Ha, 9 farms
  • South Africa:
    Apples, pears, grapes and avocados, 780 Ha, 6 farms
  • Turkey:
    Figs and cherries, 220 Ha, 3 farms

Key Regenerative Efforts:

  • Integration of cover crops to fixate nutrients, increase water holding capacity and attract pests away from the fruit
  • Holistic grazing with rotational livestock management ahead of fruit plantation
  • Compost and mulch applications to manage the impact of drought
